About the Event:

Neil will share with us his insights into what it takes to create a lasting change using social innovation. He will shed light on some of the most important topics such as community enterprise, the connection between big society and poor places, and social innovation in practice.

Speaker Biography:

Neil is the Faculty (Professor level) in Management Practice at the Cambridge Judge Business School, Director of the Master of Studies in Social Innovation Programme, Co-Director of the Cambridge Centre for Social Innovation, Fellow and Director of Studies in Management Studies at Lucy Cavendish College.

Neil’s brings extensive knowledge from both his research and professional experience crossing over social innovation, social and community entrepreneurship and the history of social change organisations. Neil was Chief Executive of Keystone Development Trust for 13 years. Keystone is one of the largest development trusts in the UK delivering community development, social enterprises and property development.

Neil is also a Fellow of the Inter University Seminar on Armed Forces and Society, a Fellow in Clayton State University’s Center for Social Innovation & Sustainable Entrepreneurship, and an Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Business Administration at Memorial University, Newfoundland, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA), a Senior Fellow of the Institute of Place Management (SFIPM), and a Visiting Fellow at Anglia Ruskin University.

In addition, Neil has managed a wide variety of public and social sector services including community safety, racial harassment investigations, race equality, grants, tenant participation and children, youth and community projects.
